The Stars opened the regional tournament, held in Greer, SC, with a loss to Ocala 2-3, but followed with victories over
South Carolina (3-1) and Mississippi (5-0). In the semi-finals, the team posted a hard-fought 2-1 win over North Texas
to set up the rematch with Ocala.

Anna Sells scored two goals and Jelly Villarreal added a third in the final. The Stars buckled down defensively for the
championship with EJ Proctor in goal, and Sophia Cater, Caitlin Molloy, Sarah Byers, Jordan Peterson, Lucy Beaman
and Ashlee Bogenn rotating through the back four. Sydney Browder, Kasey Cooke and Rachel Williams controlled the
central midfield winning many tackles and headers. Excellent support play was provided by outside midfielders, Claire
Fleming, Kelsey Dawson, Emily Bohn, and Katie Naziri, and Olivia Sandy and Cameron Johnson consistently pushed
into the attack.

Anna, Jelly and Kasey led the team in scoring throughout the tournament with Anna leading the way
tallying 8 goals in 5 games.

The team invites all the support they can get at the national competition and hope players and families from other
Stars teams and the soccer community will make the trip to Raleigh to support our girls.
