The Pitt-Greenville Soccer Association (PGSA) is a non-profit, tax exempt association. Its purpose is to provide Pitt County, North Carolina with an organized format in which to educate, promote and develop the game of soccer as well as encourage sportsmanship for Pitt County youth, parents and other interested adults. The PGSA was formed in 1986, and has grown to serve nearly 700 Pitt County children, ages 4 to 18, in addition to an active adult league. PGSA currently sponsors the Classic youth soccer division for children ages 11-18 (Greenville Stars). Classic soccer requires the highest level of commitment, skill and dedication and usually includes greater travel distances. Challenge level soccer is for the player/team that wants to participate in organized, competitive soccer but not at the level of Classic. The Recreational League in partnership with Greenville Recreation and Parks is a program for children ages 4-16 which teaches the fundamentals and a love for the game itself by using various age appropriate formats and field sizes. The children are encouraged to touch the ball and have a good time. The game itself becomes the teacher. PGSA is also actively involved in training coaches and referees and works closely with the Greenville Recreation and Parks Dept., the Pitt County School System and East Carolina University. The PGSA is a certified affiliate association of the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA). The Board of the PGSA is comprised of volunteer adults from all occupations throughout Pitt County. The primary mission of the PGSA is to support and encourage the sport of soccer for Pitt County youth. Come Out & Play!
